Hello, I’m Nicola Erdpresser, founder of Inkwell Designs. As a freelance graphic designer and stained glass artist I enjoy making marks, and working with graphic elements, colour and light. I’m also an environmental campaigner and am passionate about making my products in a sustainable way, so I print on organic cotton which is not only soft and luxurious but uses up to 80% less water to produce.
I studied Typography & Graphic Communications at Reading University and have worked for most of my career in book publishing. Having discovered a love of textile design I’ve been developing my collection of products with a focus on being kind to our planet. I started off by making ‘zero waste’ cutlery bags for when we are out and about, helping to avoid single-use cutlery going to landfill. My textile design collection includes some beautiful fine organic cotton scarves, organic cotton cushion covers and a range of colourful organic cotton tea towels.
In 2020 during the pandemic, I kept creative by running weekly online sketching sessions. A selection of my drawings have been printed as greetings cards on recycled card. My colourful patterns are also now available as a collection of notepads and a pack of A7 greetings cards.
My whole collection can be purchased online or at various craft markets which I will list in the Events section.
